Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American performer and dancer. Her initial roles on Broadway include roles in the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked with many acclaimed actors and directors in TV and stage productions. Her award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's most recent film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust that he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will be the producer and director for the production. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment trial in more than a century. In two seasons, Ashford played a prominent role in the critically acclaimed CBS comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford received the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her character Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. The other Broadway appearances are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
